About the artist

I am an artist from Spain based I the North West of the UK where I am finishing my BA Fine Art degree at Lancaster University. My art practice explores the entanglement between the human and the non-human. My artistic inquiry is driven by questions that emerge in the context of the Anthropocene and Ecology. Bio Art, Installation art Participatory Art are the fields were my artwork best fits.

My work method is process based and research driven. It is important for me to directly engage with the subject that I want to research. The materials I research tend to be living biological organisms, such as silkworms and slime mould. As a result, I use multidisciplinary approach by bringing tools from biology and technology to address the questions that fuel my artistic practice. Site and location have also been central elements in my art practice. By using tools like GPS tracking, my artwork directly reflected on the human interaction with place.

The outcomes of my projects take the form of immersive installation in which often the role of audience participation is key. The installations include the presence of living biological material which brings an ephemeral and unfixed nature to the artwork. Composed by a system of multidisciplinary elements which includes moving image, sculptures (often exempt and hanging), sound art and interactive elements.
